Yuki Ip is currently a medical student at the University of Hong Kong. With a special interest in human rights advocacy, she has been a committed member of several non-governmental organizations since high school. She started her advocacy work as a UNICEF young envoy three years ago, when she organized campaigns promoting children rights and ethnic minority education, and represented UNICEF HK in a number of conferences. As an aspiring humanitarian doctor and global health professional, since the beginning of medical school, she has been working at Medical Outreachers, where she coordinated regional service trips and local healthcare workshops for abused domestic workers and refugees. Recently, she undertook a public health assessment project investigating the knowledge, attitude and practice of migrant workers on sexually transmitted diseases. Previously, she also interned at Crossroads Foundation, where she carried out analysis on the Sphere Project, and worked on a proposal aiming at distributing feminine products to developing countries. Yuki looks forward to channeling her medical education to transform healthcare practices and policies conducive to the improvement of health and living conditions among underprivileged groups.
