Kate is an Occupational Therapy student at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University. Kate believes that life begins at the periphery of the comfort zone so she keeps an open mind, by accepting new challenges and learning new things.

As the Debate Team Captain in secondary school, Kate gained a deeper understanding of different social issues and honed her skills in public speaking and critical thinking. Taking part in the Hong Kong Future Pioneers 2015, an annual congress for youth organized by the HKSAR Outstanding Students’ Union, she initiated a social campaign to raise awareness on inadequate accessibility in Hong Kong and developed a sense of responsibility to contribute to society and a caring mindset for the ones in need. Dedicated to helping others, she decided to major to in Occupational Therapy in university.

Understanding the importance of learning through practice, she volunteered for Principal Chan Tutorial Center and organized creative educational activities. Kate also joined a service trip as a tutor to spread love and care to children in Inner Mongolia. She is enthusiastic about raising global awareness among students and signed up to be a Global Student Ambassador and Buddy for inbound exchange student at PolyU facilitating the cultural exchange between international and local students.

Kate sees herself as an adventurer because she regards adventuring as the best way to learn. If she never tries, she will never know.
