Jacky is an undergraduate of Biotechnology and Business at The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology. Considering himself as an active learner and enthusiastic engager across self and social development, Jacky would like to utilize his interdisciplinary knowledge to become a change-maker in the biotechnology-related industry.
He was a project leader in the Joint School Science Exhibition when he was a secondary school student, engineering a remedial product targeting office workers to reduce chances of getting occupational injuries and relying on medicine chronically. He also demonstrated his passion for social services. Partnered with The Salvation Army, he was an ambassador of the HKUST’s community engagement on the health issues of street sweepers; he volunteered as a teacher in Cambodia villages and delivered lessons to over 300 students about English and STEM knowledge. While experiencing inadequate resources in this service trip, he found his aspiration of advocating drug equality for every patient in this global village.
Jacky is grateful to be supported by The D. H. Chen Foundation Scholarship that connects like-minded scholars to bring positive influence on society. He hopes to establish profound relationships with expertise to pursue his goal of making impact to the world’s healthcare system.
