Hayley is currently studying Medicine at The University of Hong Kong. Passionate about humanitarian work, Hayley not only aspires to actively take part in service herself, but hopes to be able to encourage and inspire other young individuals to do so as well. Since high school, Hayley devoted her time to volunteering at various NGOs including Helping Hand and Maggie’s Centre. But after taking on the role of Island School’s student union president, she realized that creating opportunities for other individuals to engage in the community can be as influential for the community and the individual as taking part in service herself. Hayley is currently the Vice President of Medical Outreachers, a local NGO providing service opportunities for medical students in hopes of inspiring passion and creating a greater impact on the community’s health on a local, regional and international level. The core values of Medical Outreachers – “reach out, create and inspire” is what Hayley seeks to continue doing through applying knowledge from her medical education to improve the healthcare provision among underprivileged groups. In her free time, Hayley loves to travel and play squash.
